April Showers

After spending four years living in Tokyo, I have become pretty obsessed with umbrellas and rain gear.  It rains a lot there and the fashionable ladies of Tokyo will not let the weather put a damper on their style. In fact, a rainy day provides an opportunity to wear some of the brightest fun accessories around.

This umbrella from the MOMA store would brighten up the dreariest of days.

The combination of this beige umbrella from Sergio Sophia  and tomato red cape and lipstick is so classic and dramatic!

1960’s rain gear can be hard to find but well worth it and very durable. These vintage Wellies from Rag/Rich Vintage are both classic and outrageous.

Ame Ame sells some of the most stylish contemporary rain gear in the East (inspired, of course, by Japan).

You can’t go wrong with polka dotted rain gear in bright colors via  Golden Girl of the West blog.  Check out her blog for loads of beautiful vintage styling ideas.

This 1967 ad from Glamour Magazine via Ms.HepburnsCloset provides loads of inspiration.

Enjoy the rain!
